Meet The Team

I love working with students and young professionals. I have 8 years of experience working in a variety of social service and educational settings.
My professional objective is to help individuals remove unhelpful patterns and ways of thinking to fully embrace life. I approach counselling holistically with the belief that mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health all impact an individual’s wellbeing. I draw from solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioural techniques to empower you to achieve your goals. I adapt my therapeutic modalities based on your needs.
This is a safe space and judgement free zone, where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I bring my whole self to our counselling sessions; I value transparency and humor. I believe that creating a positive and collaborative client-counsellor relationship is fundamental to this journey. As we explore ways to achieve your group counselling goals, I encourage you to celebrate all small and large successes as we tackle obstacles during this time of growth.

I am a Master of Social Work student at University of Toronto. I am a cis-women and an International student from China. I have a B.S. in Psychology from University of Washington where my research focused on developmental Psychology. My interest in Psychology and mental health started with watching crime shows and documentaries even though many scenarios in tv shows are artistically over-exaggerated.
During my undergrad, I had learned about how social and environmental factors would work together to interact with genes to affect people’s physical and mental well-being and life outcomes. Plus my interest in working with people in needs and a realization of lack of education, knowledge, and advocacy for mental health in general in the Chinese community, I decided to pursue a career in social work specially focusing on mental health. Hopefully in the future, I could provide help and services for Chinese communities in North America and also back home in China.
As a co-facilitator, I am hoping to foster an inviting, empathetic and non-judgmental environment for everyone to share and explore their realities and lived experiences. Looking forward to connecting with you and supporting you in your unique situations!
